Supply chain disruption: Contingency sourcing

It is a daunting time for organisations assessing the impacts to their businesses, and many are establishing ‘war rooms’ and allocating significant resources to identifying risks, formulating mitigation strategies and adjusting supply chains accordingly.

We have also been receiving requests from many of our suppliers enquiring about how they could help our clients during this pandemic, and so we have created a rapid reaction force ready to support any immediate requirements for contingency or urgent supplier sourcing.

Supply chain solution

Sourcing via this rapid reaction force and our online marketplace enables clients to:

  • adhere to the guidelines set by the government, the World Health Organization (WHO) and local authorities
  • rapidly source goods and services from pre-vetted suppliers at short notice to maintain their supply chain
  • eliminate the need for face-to-face meetings and supplier presentations & monitor and control contingency spend effectively

Contingency & urgent sourcing

We’re already working closely with many of our clients to help connect their procurement teams with hundreds of pre-vetted suppliers, in categories where they are experiencing disruption to their existing supply chain, or have a new need as a consequence of the current situation.

We’re here to help

We understand that Covid 19 is causing major disruptions to supply chains. This is where we can help.

As a Procurement-as-a-Service provider, we connect business buyers with pre-vetted suppliers in our online marketplace.

Maistro 2020 Brand Refresh

We’re happy to launch our new Brand refresh and website. This came to life after a series of internal brand workshops where we explored and reviewed why we love our jobs (what gets us out of bed in the morning), how we help our clients reach their objectives and what deliverables we achieve for our clients.

This is what we have learnt.

Why we LOVE our job

We did this excercise by starting with our ‘why’ taken from a TED talk from Simon Senek.

The idea here is to start by thinking about your cause/belief as a company, followed by how you help others and then considering what you actually do.

Our passion is the future sustainability of our clients buying. Through our supplier partnerships and intelligent platform, our delivery experts work in harmony with our clients and the suppliers on our B2B marketplace to provide an excellent all-round spend management service.

In short. The Maistro mission is to enable buyers and suppliers to find each other faster and work together better.

How we enjoy working with our clients

We believe there is real power in collaboration, this is why we treat our clients as partners. Working in synergy towards the same goal, to make their life easier.

Our guided-buying approach connects B2B buyers with pre-vetted suppliers to achieve the best value, while streamlining and standardising sourcing processes to reduce the time spent per purchase.

What we offer our clients

We are a Procurement-as-a-Service provider connecting business buyers with pre-vetted suppliers in our online marketplace.

Our easy to use solution identifies, evaluates and matches suitable suppliers with buyers securely and quickly. Some of the advantages of using Maistro to source your suppliers:

  • Advanced Statement of Requirements (SOR) and Statement of Works (SOW) automation to streamline and accelerate the sourcing process.
  • Thousands of suppliers and service providers in our marketplace are rigorously pre-vetted and continuously evaluated on their performance.
  • CIPS certified professionals are there to make sure both the buyer and supplier are happy from start to finish.

Maistro welcomes Damo in new Marketing Role as part of continued growth

I have spent most of my career working in London, but living here in Devon, the 2nd best place in the world. Naturally Cape Town is my first and still my ‘original’ home, my stomping ground and where I grew up.

It gave me GREAT JOY updating my LinkedIn profile to reflect my new role here at Maistro (thanks for all the kind messages). This was after an extended sabbatical over most of 2019. My reason for this? I decided to take a slow and strategic approach to finding my next role.

The journey was long, but it has really made me realise the importance of finding a role that fits your personality and lifestyle. We spend so much of our time at work, it makes sense that we should have a healthy relationship with our workplace and the people we work with. I can tell I’m going to be happy here.

Having only recently started at Maistro, things are still very new, but I can see there is a bright future ahead for the company and I’m really looking forward to being part of it. Maistro is a spend management service. We offer a concierge buying service through our curated supplier network.

We are more than just another SaaS (Software as a Service) company, we put a huge emphasis on the service we offer our clients. Not just adding value through our tech but also through our expert delivery team and our growing supplier partnerships.

Tail spend is a growing problem amongst large enterprises, this usually accounts for the bottom 20% of a company’s total spend. This results in a lot of inefficiencies and waste. Do you want to learn more about how we can help with your spend management?

How to write a great Brief or Statement of Requirements

Creating a brief that is clear and concise will ensure the buying process is fast and cost effective. Although writing a brief can sometimes be the most challenging part of your project, don’t worry, we are here to help. At Maistro we use the term Statement of Requirements or ‘SOR’.

We have a lot of experience writing SOR’s and can guide you through writing your first SOR in order to get you started.

If you want some inspiration to get started why not take a look at current projects on the Marketplace as you may find that someone has already created a similar SOR to your own.

Key details to include in your SOR:

Budget

  • Make sure that your budget has been agreed and signed off by the relevant decision maker before submitting your SOR
  • Don’t hold back budget as the sealed bid nature of the Marketplace drives competitive pricing by itself.
  • If you need help setting a budget you can speak with Maistro’s Delivery Team who will be able to assist you

Timescale

  • Ensure you have confirmed and defined project start and delivery dates

Deliverables

  • This is probably the most important part of the SOR, and it’s essential that you think through your strategy and objectives completely before you get the project underway. Here a few questions to think about:
  • Why do you need this and what are you hoping to achieve with it?
  • What are your goals?
  • Is there a specific problem you’re trying to solve?
  • How will you measure success?

Tender

Describe what you want to see in the pitch, for example, maybe you would like to see examples of similar work in your industry

There is no such thing as too much information, the better the information the better the outcome.

You can use the example SOR bellow as a guide on how to create a SOR that will provide all the information required to make the buying process through Maistro, easy and effective.
