Maistro 2020 Brand Refresh

We’re happy to launch our new Brand refresh and website. This came to life after a series of internal brand workshops where we explored and reviewed why we love our jobs (what gets us out of bed in the morning), how we help our clients reach their objectives and what deliverables we achieve for our clients.

We did this excercise by starting with our ‘why’ taken from a TED talk from Simon Senek.

The idea here is to start by thinking about your cause/belief as a company, followed by how you help others and then considering what you actually do.

Maistro welcomes Damo in new Marketing Role as part of continued growth

I have spent most of my career working in London, but living here in Devon, the 2nd best place in the world. Naturally Cape Town is my first and still my ‘original’ home, my stomping ground and where I grew up.


It gave me GREAT JOY updating my LinkedIn profile to reflect my new role here at Maistro (thanks for all the kind messages). This was after an extended sabbatical over most of 2019. My reason for this? I decided to take a slow and strategic approach to finding my next role.


The journey was long, but it has really made me realise the importance of finding a role that fits your personality and lifestyle. We spend so much of our time at work, it makes sense that we should have a healthy relationship with our workplace and the people we work with. I can tell I’m going to be happy here.


Having only recently started at Maistro, things are still very new, but I can see there is a bright future ahead for the company and I’m really looking forward to being part of it. Maistro is a spend management service. We offer a concierge buying service through our curated supplier network.

How to write a great Brief or Statement of Requirements

Creating a brief that is clear and concise will ensure the buying process is fast and cost effective. Although writing a brief can sometimes be the most challenging part of your project, don’t worry, we are here to help. At Maistro we use the term Statement of Requirements or ‘SOR’.

We have a lot of experience writing SOR’s and can guide you through writing your first SOR in order to get you started.

If you want some inspiration to get started why not take a look at current projects on the Marketplace as you may find that someone has already created a similar SOR to your own.

Key details to include in your SOR:


  • Make sure that your budget has been agreed and signed off by the relevant decision maker before submitting your SOR
  • Don’t hold back budget as the sealed bid nature of the Marketplace drives competitive pricing by itself.
  • If you need help setting a budget you can speak with Maistro’s Delivery Team who will be able to assist you


  • Ensure you have confirmed and defined project start and delivery dates


  • This is probably the most important part of the SOR, and it’s essential that you think through your strategy and objectives completely before you get the project underway. Here a few questions to think about:
  • Why do you need this and what are you hoping to achieve with it?
  • What are your goals?
  • Is there a specific problem you’re trying to solve?
  • How will you measure success?


Describe what you want to see in the pitch, for example, maybe you would like to see examples of similar work in your industry

There is no such thing as too much information, the better the information the better the outcome.
